Belqeys Castle It’s one of the largest brick & clay buildings in Iran, which is located near Esfarayen in North Khorasan. Having an area of over 180 hectares, it includes a collection of historical monument such as the remains of the citadel & the moat around it, Sharestan (the central part of the city) which includes: the tower & rampart, the mausoleum of Sheikh Azari, the ruins known as Menar-tappeh (the Great Mosque), pottery kiln, reservoir, bazaar (market), caravanserai, a building known as Yakhdans (a cold place for saving meet & vegetables & ice) & a vast cemetery near the eastern gate.
