The Shushtar Historical Hydraulic System is a continuous collection of 13 historical structures including bridges, dams, mills, waterfalls, hand-dug canals, and massive water conduits. These 13 interrelated parts operate as a unified hydraulic system, the system was built during the Achaemenid to Sassanid periods to maximize the water usage efficiency.
