Sat 07-03-2015 00:46 AM RTA to slap a fine of AED 100 on men travelling on Dubai Metro's women and children carriages Dubai, 6th March, 2015 (WAM) -- Men found travelling in the newly expanded women and children carriages of the Dubai Metro will be fined AED 100, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said, adding that the fine was in effect from 1st March. The step is part of the RTA’s endeavours to maintain the privacy and comfort of women and children and to respect the norms and traditions of the community. Mohammed Al Mudharreb, the Director of Rail Operation of RTA’s Rail Agency, said: "Expanding the women and children cabin was prompted by the rising numbers of riders of this compartment over the past years. This has warranted an expansion of this cabin permanently as of February 15."
