Hegmataneh is one of the precious & important ancient places in Iran. According to the account of Herodotus, the ancient Greek historian, Hegmataneh dates back to the era of the Medes, who chose it as the first capital of Iran & their government center. Later, it became the summer capital of the Achaemenids, as well as the Parthians & the Sassanians.
